Update: $9.99?! Wow, that is a bit exorbitant. I only paid 99 cents. Thats just too much for this app in comparison to other apps you can get that are similar to this. You could buy three apps just as high quality (even more so) for that price. Id never recommend paying $10 for this app. Devs are just getting greedy on the App Store, so I always recommend supporting devs who will charge a fair price and also support and keep up with updating and adding new features. Thats just crazy. Im glad I grabbed this early on.
Original Review:
Well, I had only just reinstalled this after seeing there was an update to this. Im really pleasantly surprised by all of the new features and content.
Its a very nice looking app and pretty intuitive, though certain things about it feel very unfinished. There should be a way to tie all patterns together at the same spot in the song or loop while mixing and messing with single parts.
Similar to how you can edit song in Reason and have all parts running at the right time within the song.
The worst thing about this (though my rating does not reflect this opinion) are the prepackaged songs. I mean, ridiculously bad. The "African" loop is so bad its almost obsene, lol. I kept wondering if it was some kind of error where there was another song playing on top of it...but after investigating, it became clear that it was, indeed, how the song actually went.
Some of the songs were worse than others, but rather than completely incohesive (not in a cool eclectic way) like the African one, they were tuneless and just plain bad, for lack of a better word.
Just very surprising that not even the devs recognized this enough to halt the songs from making it out into the public.
Otherwise, the app is looking far better than it was when I initially bought it.
